Why there is no single price
Agencies may price by hourly rate, shift, overnight arrangement, or a defined schedule. Minimum hours, weekends, holidays, specialized experience, transportation, and short-notice needs can change an estimate.
Build a useful comparison
Ask each agency to describe exactly what is included, the minimum visit length, how cancellations work, whether rates change by time or day, and what happens when a caregiver is unavailable.
A quote should explain the plan. The lowest hourly number is not necessarily the lowest cost if it cannot cover the hours or tasks your family actually needs.
What to bring to the conversation
Have a rough idea of the days, times, tasks, location, and desired start date. It is fine to say “we are not sure yet.” A good agency should help clarify the schedule.
Not sure what comes next?Tell us what your family is trying to solve. You do not need to have everything figured out, and no provider is contacted without a clear permission step.
